I blame the parents

It was a warm summer's evening and the McSmith family were relaxing in the garden. Little Jack, who was twelve years old, was out playing with his father's gun. His sister Sasha, who was nine years old, was trying to convince him to give her a go. The gun went off, and poor Sasha was struck by a piece of shrapnel in the stomach. "Now look what you made me do!" shouted Jack. The doctor was called, and Sasha was rushed into intensive care. The doctors worked late into the night trying to save her but sadly Sasha passed away the next morning. Jack was distraught, and his parents were shattered. "It was an accident," Jack said with tears in his eyes, "I was only playing with the gun." "No, Jack," they said, "You killed your sister. I don't think you can live with us any more." Jack left the house without saying a word, and went off to the cemetery to stand near his sister's grave and cry, for he was heartbroken. He was lost ...

Mischief's milkshakes

Mischief the cat decided he would make milkshakes for him and Wendy. He found all the ingredients in the kitchen. He was going to use milk, ice cream, chocolate buttons, strawberries, caramel, whipped cream and sprinkles. When he had finished mixing the ingredients for the milkshake, Mischief the cat sat on the table and waited for Wendy to come down stairs. Wendy walked into the kitchen and saw that Mischief had splattered milkshake all over the walls. Mischief was purring loudly and licking his paws. "What did you do?!" Wendy shouted. "I'm sorry, Wendy, but I couldn't help it. I wanted to make milkshakes for us," Mischief said. "Well, I don't like milkshakes, so I'm going to have cookies for breakfast," Wendy said. Mischief was shocked, but then he realised that meant more milkshake for him. Soon Mischief was slurping away at the milkshake he had made. "And who do you suppose is going to clean up this mess?" asked Wendy. "I...

Mischief's mission

Mischief the cat had an important job he needed to do. He had a basket lined with cotton, with a cord tied around his neck. His job was to fill the basket with freshly picked raspberries. Mischief the cat was to dash through the thicket and gather them. As he was doing this, he noticed something unusual in the middle of the thicket. He ran toward the spot and found a little girl, who turned out to be a beautiful girl named Little Red Riding Hood. "Who are you?" asked Little Red Riding Hood. "I'm Mischief the cat, and I'm doing a very important job for our Emperor." "Do you mind if I help you?" asked Little Red Riding Hood. "Oh no, I'm not going to let you touch my basket!" Then Mischief ran off to the other end of the thicket and continued gathering raspberries. Mischief, in fact, was a spy for the Emperor, who was planning to overthrow the wicked King. Mischief had discovered that the King was allergic to raspberries which is why he ...

Minnie's brunch

Minnie Mouse was meeting her friends for brunch at a local café. Minnie Mouse had to be there on time, and she had to look good for her friends. She was wearing her favourite pair of dungarees and a snazzy bow tie. When she arrived at the café she was disappointed to see that the girls were already at the table. "You're late for brunch," said Daisy Duck, "You look great though." "Daisy Duck," said Minnie, "I'm sorry you were late. You really don't have to worry about it." Daisy Duck could be a tad bit high maintenance sometimes, but Minnie couldn't help but feel a little sorry for her. Daisy was familiar with Minnie Mouse's mind games and was determined not to fall for it. "I know you mean well," said Daisy, "but you're not as good as you think you are." "Is that so?" asked Minnie, "At least I don't dress like a toddler." "I know that," replied Daisy, "but I can...

Mickey and the chairs

Mickey Mouse was taking his dog, Pluto, for a walk in the park. As they walked, Mickey noticed three chairs. The chairs were empty but they were each a different colour and each had a name written on the back. Mickey asked Pluto what the chairs were called. Pluto went to have a look and saw that the chairs said "Huey", "Dewey" and "Louie". Mickey picked up the chair marked "Huey". "This looks like a nice chair," said Mickey, "I wonder where it came from." Pluto said, "It's from our house." "Are they all from our house?" asked Mickey. "No," said Pluto, "this chair came from grandma's house." "And what about the third one?" asked Mickey. "The third one came from my house," said Pluto. Just then, three young ducks named Huey, Dewey and Louie came walking up to Mickey and Pluto. "Where'd you get those chairs?" "This one came from my house,"...

Minnie's outfit

Minnie Mouse was looking through her wardrobe for something to wear. She had so many clothes, but what she was looking for was difficult to find. She wanted to wear a very specific outfit. Finally she found it, and put it on. She looked in the mirror and burst out laughing. "I look just like a hat," she thought. Mickey Mouse walked into the room and saw what Minnie was wearing. "Oh, Minnie! What are you doing?" "I wanted to look like a hat," replied Minnie. "But you look like a hat on its head." "Isn't it hilarious?" asked Minnie. "The one on its head," replied Mickey. Minnie started laughing even harder than the first time. She laughed so hard that she had to hold her sides, and then she had to laugh again. Mickey could not work out what she found so funny. She explained that her mother had promised her a new doll if she did well in her lessons, and that she was trying to teach it to be the perfect doll. Mickey noticed th...

The tree

I was walking to school one morning when I noticed something up in a tree. The branches of the tree were laden with many little baskets. I wanted to get a closer look at what was in the baskets. I climbed the tree to see, but as I was going up the tree, I came across another little basket. In that basket, I saw a baby fox having a nap. I was a little afraid, so I ran away as fast as I could. When I got to school, I told my friends about what I had seen. They were very interested and asked if they could see the little fox. After school, I took my friends to the tree so they could have a look. When we got there, I told them that there was no fox in the tree. I had changed my mind about showing them and was hoping this would stop them from looking. I told them that we were going home, but before I could leave the tree, they said "Yes, come on, we want to see the fox." Before I knew it, one of my friends was climbing the tree up to where the baskets were. When she got to the bask...
